Orwell™ is a wood works studio renowned for their craftsmanship and innovative designs.
The visual identity is rooted in the natural texture and fluidity of wood. The goal was to create a bespoke and contemporary style that translates across all materials while remaining true to the organic and tactile nature of wood.
At the heart of this identity is the custom wordmark. The letterforms possess a refined flow in combination with sharp edges, which represents the organic shape of wood and precision of the crafts. The color palette draws inspiration from the rich tones of natural woods—deep walnut browns, warm oaks, and muted ash greys—reinforcing a sense of warmth and sophistication. Typography choices reflect the balance between tradition and modernity, much like Orwell’s approach to woodworking, ensuring timeless appeal while embracing innovation.
